About CogitoDeck — build smarter, remember longer
We transform your course materials (PDFs, slides, homework, handwritten notes) into clean, cited flashcards and help you retain what matters with evidence‑based spaced repetition.
Alpha — early access, student‑led product development.
Our mission
Make studying efficient, trustworthy, and less stressful. We give students a simple way to convert messy course materials into reliable study items, then schedule reviews so learning sticks.
The problem we solve
- Course content is scattered (slides, PDFs, homework, notes) and in numerous formats, including paper.
- Students don't know what to memorize or how to schedule reviews.
- Existing tools require manual work or generic banks that don't match a class.
How CogitoDeck helps
- Ingest course files (PDFs, slides, notes) and extract coverage.
- Generate high‑quality flashcards with citations.
- Prioritize review with an FSRS schedule tailored to you.
How it works (quick)
Upload
Add PDFs, slides, or scans.
Understand
AI models read and interpret the content.
Generate
The AI produces concise and tailored flashcards and attaches source citations so you can verify sources.
Review
Via FSRS, we schedule reviews and surface what to study each day.
Improve
You can edit any card, flag errors, and teach the system as you use it.
Our values
Privacy first
We never sell your data, AI is never trained on your data, and you can delete your files easily at any time.
Accuracy & transparency
Every generated card includes a page citation when relevant; flagging is easy.
Student‑first pricing
We keep our plans affordable and commit to them staying that way.
Evidence‑based
We use FSRS principles and guide models to produce cards in ways that optimize learning.
Open roadmap
We ship early, iterate with feedback, and publish our roadmap.
Why we started
We built CogitoDeck because studying felt inefficient: notes scattered across platforms, hours spent reformatting, and little confidence about what to remember.
Starting as students ourselves, we prototyped a system that reads your course materials and creates study items you can trust. Today we're shipping an alpha and iterating with early users. Our long‑term goal is to move from flashcards to full assessment preparation (CogitoPrep) — but we're taking a stepwise approach so every feature we ship actually helps students.

Privacy & trust (short)
We take privacy seriously. We rely on the Gemini Files API for document ingestion (which caches data for only 48 hours) and only store files in our system to improve the experience (such as to help with citations). You can delete them anytime. We don't sell personal data. Full privacy policy and Terms of Service are linked below.
